Amp in protect mode. How to fix?

Before it went into protection mode, it would randomly cut out, but now its stuck in protection mode. We're going to tear it down tomorrow. Its the subwoofer amp. Polk DXI 12s and a POLK 880 amp. Any suggestions or words of wisdom?
